Insulin-Resistance-Friendly Pastas I Actually Buy
Updated: Sep 10
Having PMOS and/or insulin resistance does not mean breaking up with pasta.
There’s no single “PMOS diet” and you definitely don’t need to eliminate carbohydrates. But choosing pastas with a little more fiber and protein can make it easier to build a filling, balanced meal, especially when paired with vegetables, a protein source and some healthy fats.
These are a few I genuinely like and would actually buy again. No zucchini pretending to be spaghetti involved.

Natureland lentil pasta
Your legume-based option. Naturally higher in protein and fiber than many traditional pastas, and a useful way to add legumes into a meal.

Barilla Protein+ pasta
Your middle-ground option. It eats more like regular pasta while giving you extra protein and some fiber. Good for people who don't love the texture/taste of 100% legume pasta.

Natureland Whole-Wheat Spaghetti
For when I just want actual pasta.
Made with whole-grain durum wheat, so you get the familiar pasta taste and texture with more of the grain— and its fiber— intact. An easy swap when I want to bump up the fiber without turning my pasta into something that no longer tastes like pasta.

The takeaway
You don’t need special pasta because you have PMOS or insulin resistance. Sometimes I choose lentil pasta for extra protein and fiber, sometimes whole wheat for the fiber, and sometimes Protein+ because I like it. The best pasta is the one you enjoy and can build a balanced meal around.
